Demons and the Contract.

Things start,

Things end.

People come,

People go.

But the Earth still manages to go around the Sun!

”How is it possible?” cries out heart

Weren’t promises made to be kept?

And hands made to be held?

But all around

There is broken promises and unfulfilled dreams

Rusted by the corrosive acid of hoping and waiting

And now hot tears no longer blind the eyes

Because they have dried up

We have accepted our Demons

And meet them under the pale moonlight

Rewriting our contract

All over again..

the contract of replacing tears with Smiles

Smiles for the times we had our hearts broken and crushed mercilessly

Smiles for the times we sacrificed our world for someone else’s word

Smiles for the times we kept on waiting ,without expecting…

And lastly ,Smiles for all the times we chose our Demons over our Angels!

    they are not demons, accepting the fact its hard to keep promises and integrity.
    Demons would be not making promises, i think we accept our capability and let go of our arrogance.

    Or did i misinterpret the entire poem? 😉

      no, maybe not…but most of the times we do let our demons overpower our decision to think and hence make the correct choice.

    Funny how some people don’t like the good cause they’re in love with the bad side. I so admire the truth you put behind your poems, either by experience or the fact that you have a gift for reading the world around you. “Smiles for the times we sacrificed our world for someone else’s” is a line that sticks with many people, who on earth hasn’t made that mistake at one time or another. All we can do is smile and learn. Great job doll. Love it so much.

      People don’t love the bad side…but after one point in life it seems that Ur demons are the ones to stay with you…and don’t we all long for permenancy? Yes…the world I see around me shows me the various shades of life. Thank you,Will!
