Old wounds

I covered you up

Left you behind

But you keep following

Me like the

Night follows the day.

A smile

A fragrance

A word

Is all that you need

To come back

And drag me down

To the dark abyss.

The scars are your messengers

That stay with me

To remind me

Of debts uncleared…

Great poem 🙂 our past always remains in our memories, just well hidden and well buried and well disguised and it shows itself with just a random thing or a moment. Debts needs to be cleared.

Another fine painting of words which in turn makes it a mental masterpiece. Sounds like this is of a memory or a secret. I too try to leave old memories behind but one word, phrase or action always brings it back to the surface with any pain that got buried with it. Such emotion, I love how your writing is an outlet that is so relating to others, that’s what I try to do. Words are the only thing you can employ without worrying about their wages, and trust me when I say your words work for you. Wonderful read. ;o)

Wonderfully expressed. How much we try to move on, one single back and here, we get back to square one.
